TRUE WEST
True West is a 1980 play by Sam Shepard about two estranged brothers, Austin and Lee, who are reunited at their mother's suburban California home. The play explores themes of sibling rivalry, identity, and the disillusionment of the American Dream through their conflict, which escalates as their roles and personalities begin to reverse. It was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1983.
As director it was important our production had a full female production team that added a female flavor to a show dripping with toxic masculinity.
