LABOR OF LOVE

Labor of Love is a new musical in development that explores love, ambition, and the immigrant experience in America. The story follows Jorge, a young dreamer from Mexico who begins working for Senator White and unexpectedly falls for the Senator’s daughter, Holly. As their connection deepens against a volatile political backdrop, Jorge is thrust into the public eye as a symbol of the American Dream, forcing him to confront questions of identity, belonging, and who gets to claim a future here.

As creative producer, I shepherded the development process aligning the writers, composers, and creative team, shaping workshops, and ensuring the cast had the support and insight they needed to bring new material to life. From structuring table reads to guiding feedback sessions, my focus was creating a collaborative, energizing environment where bold ideas could evolve and the emotional core of the piece could shine. The result is a dynamic, forward-moving development process grounded in clarity, artistry, and trust.
